Noss Mayo is a curious name
That holds a fascination
Immortalised by one fun soul
In his car's registration
A puzzle for the visitors
As answers try to find
It doesn't sound like English
And nothing comes to mind
But if they check in village
They'll find someone who knows
This most peculiar title
Refers to Matthew's Nose
A nod to one Royal favourite
Who was bequeathed the land
So now the mystery has been solved
And all can understand.
