Sally Valentine
You’ve been to Focus-Do It All
You’ve browsed at B&Q
You’ve gone through Mum’s house room by room
Found lots and lots to do.
You’ve emptied cupboards, drawers and shelves
Plus boxes, tins and bowls
Discovered treasures lost in time
And linen full of holes.
You’ve dusted, scrubbed and polished
Put varnish coats on doors
Even got a parking fine
While sorting out Mum’s floors.
It’s no wonder that you’re shattered
But thank the Lord not stressed
No wonder that you fall asleep
Before you get undressed.
I think I’ve told you this before
When toasting us in wine
I love you more and more each day
My Sally Valentine.
