Green At Rest
The green lies in abeyance
The shots have all been played
No more the calculations
Before the putts are made
The fairway slumbers in the sun
Deep shadows cloak the rough
The trolleys parked at clubhouse
By those who’ve had enough
One day the mower will return
To surface make pristine
For now the daisies will hold sway
And beautify this scene.
