Birdy Boardwalk

With feet all curled and twisted

This bird was in a mess

Hoping to get flying

Yet left in deep distress

All cosy in his Mummy’s nest

But hopeless on the ground

His walking was a nightmare

Solution must be found

While some were just cold-hearted

His sorry plight ignored

One kind soul was moved to help

And make him shoes of board

So while it’s still not easy

And hopping is quite hard

At least he has a fighting chance

Upon his soles of card
