Beside the blue Ionian sea

I dreamt of us, I longed for thee

I pictured us upon a beach

Sweet love to share like sun-kissed peach

Beneath an azure cloudless sky

I swam and lazed and wondered why

We two should be so far apart

When no one's closer to my heart

Between us now so many miles

No voice to hear, no loving smiles

And yet perhaps when next we meet

You'll join me - make my life complete.
