Ken's 80th Birthday
Apologies to Maureen
I really had no choice
Our Ken deserved a poem
I had to give it voice
Now eighty is a big one
Sounds better as four score
He celebrated seventy
And now he's had ten more
It's not been all plain sailing
At times it's been a strain
Like passing out in Norway
When homeward bound by train
Next his knee he mucked up
When skidding on black ice
He missed a trip to Africa
His language wasn't nice
Yet then he got his licence back
And new car in his drive
Before another fall in France
At least he's still alive
When he's back behind the wheel
The future will be bright
So now just let us Spur him on
This Senior Lilywhite.
