Giffords Circus
We went to Giffords Circus
With all the usual crew
Before the big top opened
We headed up the queue
There is no show quite like it
With acts and music live
And kicking off the action
It's Tweedie and high five
Jugglers swift and acrobats
Tumbling here with practised ease
While far above the sawdust
A nimble girl on high trapeze
Horseback riders, doves a-winging
Slapstick fun and audience screams
Sequined costumes, showbiz glamour
Magic made of childhood dreams
All too soon the big finale
All too soon the parting bow
Next year they'll change the show completely
And we will never know just how.
