Canal folk like to motor

Tom prefers to punt

His vessel has no engine

So this is not a stunt

His boat disused in Amsterdam

In UK was restored

To regain former beauty

And now he lives on board

Once a market gardener

Today with each strong thrust

His heart is set on joining

Canal and River Trust

His work will help the thousands

Who waterways frequent

With volunteers still needed

His gift is heaven sent.
