The Most Un-common Blue
Image - Pete Wilkins
A fragment of a perfect sky
Fluttering on the road
A vibrant flash of colour
The ancients knew as woad
Some other lepidoptera
Are blessed with pretty names
Like swallowtail and peacock
They wouldn't be the same
If they were known as common
Described just by their hue
Like this rare English beauty
The most un-common blue.
