North Norfolk Memories
Hand in hand on Holkham Beach
Twin footprints in the sand
Happy as we stroll towards
The future we have planned
Collecting shells and memories
Our toes warmed by the tide
That washes o’er the sun-kissed shore
As we walk side by side
Horizons filled with coloured sails
Far coasts obscured by haze
Fighting through the yachting throng
For cockles at the Staithe
Blakeney beer and Wells-next-Sea
And Burnham Market fish
Sunny days and sultry nights
What more could one girl wish
Samphire suppers, crab and wine
Bright kites that soon take wing
A golden time to end one year
And love the next to bring.
