Hell's Spawn Lawn
Halloween in Esmond Grove
It comes round every year
Cobwebs on the hedges
Surround a lawn of fear
Bony arms outstretching
From who knows what below
Skeletons emerging
To join the season's show
Skulls with mouths wide open
Set in ghastly grin
Inviting brave or foolish
To venture here within
Giant spiders over doorway
A knocker made of bone
Daring every passersby
To find just what is home
An awful cast of characters
Escaping Hellfire's burn
Until November comes around
And garden peace returns.
