Silver Severn
Silvered sandbanks catch the light
Beneath a cloudless sky
Feeding ground for waders
But hid when tide is high
Curlews search for morsels
While up above gulls call
All there to reap this bonus
Left by the tidal fall
Between its shores in Gloucestershire
The Severn flows to sea
Below the double bridges link
To Principality.
