Silent Playgrounds
The playgrounds are all silent
Absent their joyful sound
The swings just hang immobile
No roundabouts go round
The slides are slick but empty
The frames - no one to climb
It seems that childhood is on hold
Throughout this lockdown time
Thank goodness for the internet
So friends can stay in touch
With Skype, WhatsApp and Facebook
Although it isn't much
To compensate for days inside
While outside's bathed in sun
But with the help of parents
The kids can still have fun.
