Star-ling Gazing
Image: Daniel Biber
Standing starling gazing
Beneath a sky of red
Sunset here competing
With free show overhead
Flying in from daytime fields
The seaside town around
Their beating wings combining
Create a whoosh of sound
A change in their direction
Weaves patterns in the air
As others join their swirling -
They come from everywhere
A ballet with no music
An aerial display
As birds provide finale
Then roost at close of day.
