Penicillin Plaque
On Elton Road in Clevedon
And grand walls there within
Would busy wartime workers
Create penicillin
Unnoticed and unlauded
They followed Fleming's lead
Where he had grown mould slowly
They made it here with speed
So forces who were wounded
Would see another day
Improving their survival with
Infections kept at bay
Those to whom they owed their lives
Were ones they never met
But there's a plaque upon a wall
So we will not forget.
