Cuckoo Calls
Across the sunlit Westhay Moor
The cuckoo calls unseen
Beyond the beds of waving reeds
With wildfowl glimpsed between
Where egret fishes silently
And grebe maintains its nest
Guarded by a circling mate
Its head adorned with crest.
