St Andrew's Church
Tucked in hillside hollow
St Andrew's Church still stands
Its tower a beacon for the ships
That sailed to foreign lands
In Elton vault lies Hallam
Beloved by those he left
Lord Alfred's In Memoriam
Composed by one bereft
Outside in sloping churchyard
Memorials of stone
Fading carved inscriptions
Record the centuries flown
Beyond the gated boundary
The Poets' Walk winds true
Descending path through woodland
As pier comes into view.
