TICKED OFF BIRDER

I took a trip to Arne today
Near Wareham by the sea
Reserve is run by experts
From that RSPB
I wasn't feeling AOK
Perhaps the start of cold
But maybe that is par for course
When one is getting old
I went to see some spoonbills
And maybe avocets
But all I saw were shelducks
And that's as good it gets
The car park had a robin
And chaffinch eating seeds
Oh, yes, I saw a harrier
Fly high above the reeds
Not great for my year's ticklist
In fact it ticked me off
And all I got to show for it
Was just a nasty cough.
