The Clevedon Cobra
Curling round the bandstand
Is Clevedon's own rock snake
It's made of painted pebbles
And took a while to make
A tribute to the NHS
It started by the pier
And day by day it grew and grew
As each stone did appear
At its head a green cobra
Behind a show of art
With brightly-coloured images
To show the town's big heart
It then outgrew its starting place
And so for safety's sake
Every pebble was picked up
And moved to by the lake
Now it's in its final home
And proudly there on show
To say to all key workers -
A debt to you we owe.
