Sea Of Silk
Mist across a calm sea
Of softly ruffled silk
Underneath a pale blue sky
The Channel turned to milk
Clustered gulls on foreshore
A morning dog's first swim
While in the lake the bathers
Suit their summer whim
Empty now the Promenade
Where later crowds will stroll
Enjoying Clevedon's seafront
As August days unroll.
