The Longest Night
We’ve had the hours of darkness
Endured the longest night
With Christmas done and dusted
The future’s looking bright
The days of fog and drizzle
That seemed to never end
Brought some to thoughts of sadness
Drove others round the bend
Those perfect autumn colours
Are windswept all away
The trees are getting ready
For Spring to hold its sway
And once Yule decorations
Are put back in their box
We can then look forward to
The Vernal Equinox.
