The Hopeful Angler
All hail the hopeful angler
His tackle by his side
Lines now cast out far to sea
Into incoming tide
Silhouette on sea wall
At start of month of May.
Never knowing what he'll catch
Or what may swim his way
Thornback ray or whiting
Dab or conger eel
A cod would be a bonus
When pulled in on his reel
Some days will see bonanza
While others nothing caught
But still he'll find enjoyment
From this his chosen sport.
