Heart of the High Street
We’ve missed the shops and businesses
Who helped our town to tick.
Forced to put up shutters
So we should not fall sick
They've always been our lifeblood
Served us throughout the days
From gifts to books and chocolates
And took a lot to faze
They might not sell necessities
They're wanted all the same
Now lockdown’s eased they need us
And we will share the blame
If they don't have our custom
To get back on their feet
Without all these sole traders
No High Street is complete.
