Alfie, The Royal Crescent Cat
Jane Austen and Beau Nash were fans
Of Georgian gem Bath Spa
But in the Royal Crescent pads
A furry feline star
His name is simply Alfie
Fine buildings his domain
His owners live in one of them
But home he won’t remain
He likes his 5-star comforts
In neighbouring top hotel
The staff are known to welcome him
And plush beds suit him well
He’s often in the garden
But inside suits him best
A window that’s left open
Will have him meet a guest
In film, they questioned, Alfie
What’s it all about?
But all who know this character
Would never turf him out.
