Men of Steel
CHORUS:
Men of Steel, Men of Steel
No matter how tired and old you feel
Get on your feet – this life is real
So take your lead from Men of Steel
A taxi driver named them
With his approval seal
“If you can walk those many miles,
You must be Men of Steel”
Their packs that he found heavy
To them were no big deal
When hefted on their shoulders
For they are Men of Steel
They’ve munched on buns and croissants
Between each hearty meal
And they don’t count the calories
For they are Men of Steel
They’ve sometimes suffered blisters
On ball of foot and heel
But that won’t stop their rambling
For they are Men of Steel
They might meet rams and big bulls
But that won’t make them squeal
They’ll vault a fence quite sprightly
For they are Men of Steel.
When oozing mud confronts them
They stay on even keel
Two sticks make them sure-footed
For they are Men of Steel
At dawn they’re up and booted
And quietly off they steal
The morn’s not made for lazing
For they are Men of Steel
While some like malls and shopping
For them there’s no appeal
In trudging down some High Street
For they are Men of Steel
They won’t just dine on travel films
That’s boredom reel to reel
And weather never stops them
For they are Men of Steel
They mean to keep on going
Not end in chairs on wheel
And who knows they might do so
For they are Men of Steel.
CHORUS:
Men of Steel, Men of Steel
No matter how tired and old you feel
Get on your feet – this life is real -
And step out like those Men of Steel
