Solstice Night
At the Winter solstice
In the longest night
When daylight is the briefest
And Summer's out of sight
When cold winds shake the windows
With mornings wrapped in grey
And rain just seems unceasing
To greet each break of day
It's time to mark the passing
Of this the darkest hour
Anticipate the moment
When Spring will burst in flower.
