Water-Soldiers
Canal has just surrendered
No more its gentle flow
Invading water soldiers
Have made this space no-go
The pretty floating plantains
Have nowhere left to thrive
The fish and hidden reptiles
Can barely stay alive
Let's hope the willing volunteers
Can come and clear this weed
So it will one day vanish
No more all boats impede.
