Woodland Snowdrops
Snowdrops in the Dial Hill woods
That rarely see the snow
Hinting at the coming Spring
The season's preview show
Perfect petalled whiteness
On slender stems of green
Lighting up the woodland floor
With luminescent sheen
All too soon they fade from sight
When they have had their day
Making way for bright crocus
And daffodils asway.
