Pagoda Sunset
Pagoda in the sunset
The old pier crowned with light
Watchers on the Promenade
As day gives way to night
Silver-grey the breakers
Beneath an orange band
Driven by an onshore breeze
Rolling to the land
The searchlight of the dipping sun
Tips the waves with fire
As it sinks past the hills of Wales
So swiftly to expire.
