Battle of the Plate
My teeth were just a part of me
I took them everywhere
Whatever food I fancied
I didn’t have a care
But now this week at dentist
I lost my upper four
I’d known their days were numbered
When I walked through the door
Impression was already made
So there would be no wait
Out there came incisors
And in was placed a plate
My smile now looks like Tom Cruise
My joy should be complete
But no one ever warned me
It's difficult to eat
When mouth is filled with crockery
And chewing is a test
Forget your normal menu
A bowl of soup is best
They say I will get used to it
As others have before
But for now the jury's out
Improvement? I'm not sure.
