Leaves of brown and yellow

Rustling in the breeze

Carpeting the pavements

'Neath the autumn trees

Marker of the seasons

Destined here to fall

As all around suburban streets

Await the winter's call

Hallowe'en a memory

Before the fireworks flare

And bonfires set aflaming

Send sparks into the air.
