Democracy Trumped

Chosen fear instead of hope

Rejected a first woman

For man who likes to grope

Discarded with a ballot

The one who would unite

Picked convicted felon

Who lies and calls for fight

Abandoned with a pen stroke

A pledge to work for all

Gets climate change denier

Who wants to build a wall

He dodged assassin's bullet

Brought riots once before

He chooses his own judges

He flouts the rule of law

At present he gets two terms

But he might want to stay

So change the constitution

Like Putin cross the way

Honesty the loser

Self interest now holds sway

A bully heads to White House -

God help the USA.
