Watchet Christmas
Christmas down in Watchet
Beneath a mackerel sky
Waves against the harbour walls -
Above the gulls' harsh cry
Boats out in the Channel
Across the Minehead Bay
Mist obscures the outline
Of Exmoor far away
Coleridge not forgotten
His gift a nation's loss
The mariner stands silent
Still linked with albatross.
