Charge of the Weston Brigade
That gang in Weston-super-Mare
They brought us wavy lines
Our seafront made a mockery
And earned some big headlines
Near half a million to put right
A hefty sum to pay
A bill that we're now footing
And we don't have a say
So now it's parking charges
Like as not imposed
Threatening Hill Road traders
And Alexandra Road
No draw this for the shoppers
They'll simply go elsewhere
Park free up at Cribbs Causeway
Does distant council care?
There was to be concession
Free stay for half an hour
But seems this is forgotten
By those who wield the power
Of course, we’d rather have no charge
And let our roads stay free
Greeting those who visit
Our township by the sea
So come on Clevedon people
Back protests with your voice
Tell your own town councillors
That this is not your choice.
