January Daffodils
Daffodils in January
A splash of colour found
Braving here Atlantic storms
Which brought fierce gales around
Overlooking Walton slopes
That gently lead to sea
Brightening the roadside
Their golden heads wave free
While off in sheltered woodland
The first snowdrops appear
Hinting that in Winter
The joys of Spring are near.
