Marine Lake Dawning
White horses in the Channel
Swimmers by the lake
Chatting with their neighbours
Before the plunge they take
Heads in water bobbing
Voices on the breeze
Companionable the breaststroke
Moving with such ease
Canoe with flags a-waving
Small sail to help along
Each enjoying Sunday sun
Here where they belong.
