Shadow on the pathway

Cast by the winter sun

A walker here spotlighted

As day has just begun

Diamond frost on windscreens

Of cars left overnight

Windows cross the Channel

Caught by the morning light

Buds on now bare branches

Magnolia waits for Spring

When flowers in abundance

To all will beauty bring.
